NO GLAMORGAN E-MAIL ALERTS FOR 2001
No Glamorgan players were selected for the England 'A' tour to the West Indies or the full squad touring Kenya, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Mark Wallace is going on the England under 19 tour though, but he was favourite to go as the second keeper on the A tour behind Nottinghamshire's Chris Read. Michael Powell was also likely to go on the A tour but did not in the end.
Wayne Law's contract at Glamorgan has not been continued He made his debut in 1997, and played 23 matches. Ian Thomas now has a full contract with the side for the next season.
Adrian Dale has been voted Glamorgan's player of the year. He was presented with the HB Hancock's 2000 award on 18 September 2000 at Sophia Gardens.
Steve James has been confirmed as Glamorgan captain for the 2001 season. He has been Matt Maynard's vice captain for the past two seasons, and now takes over after Matthew who had the job for 5 years.
Jaques Kallis is now unlikely to come back to Glamorgan in 2001 as the overseas player due to international commitments with South Africa. Matthew Elliott is likely to return.
Robert Croft was chosen in the England squads for the Test tour and the one-day international tour to Sri Lanka in February and March. His progress in the matches can be followed on these pages.
